GLP-1 Dose Converter (mg, mL, units)
Doses get written in milligrams, but you draw them in millilitres or syringe units. Enter your vial concentration and dose to convert between all three, with an mg to mcg helper alongside.

How this works
Given a known concentration in milligrams per millilitre, the volume for a dose is the dose divided by the concentration, and the syringe units are that volume times 100 on a U-100 insulin syringe:
volume (mL) = dose mg / concentration
units (U-100) = volume mL x 100
For example, a 1 mg dose from a 5 mg/mL vial is 0.2 mL, which reads as 20 units. The mg to mcg helper uses 1 mg = 1000 mcg so you can sanity-check a dose written in either unit.
The U-100 assumption matters: most insulin syringes are U-100, but always confirm the scale printed on your own syringe. If you are reconstituting from powder, work out the concentration first with the reconstitution calculator. Frequently asked questions
How do I convert a milligram dose to insulin units?
Divide your dose in mg by the vial concentration in mg/mL to get the volume in mL, then multiply by 100 for units on a U-100 insulin syringe. For example, 1 mg from a 5 mg/mL vial is 0.2 mL, which is 20 units.
What does U-100 mean?
U-100 is the standard insulin syringe scale where 100 units equal 1 mL. Most insulin syringes are U-100. Confirm the scale on your own syringe before you rely on a unit figure.
How many micrograms are in a milligram?
One milligram equals 1000 micrograms. The mg to mcg helper in this tool does that conversion both ways so you can sanity-check a dose written in either unit.
