Split & Microdose Calculator
Some people discuss smaller, more frequent injections with their clinician. Enter a weekly dose and how many injections you split it into to see the per-injection amount and, optionally, the syringe units.
The total milligrams you take across a week.
How many times you split that weekly total. Splitting does not change the weekly amount.
Add this to also see units per injection on a U-100 insulin syringe.

How this works
Splitting a dose does not change how much medication you take in a week. It only divides the weekly total into smaller injections:
per injection (mg) = weekly dose / injections per week
If you add your vial concentration, the tool also converts each injection to millilitres and to units on a U-100 insulin syringe, using the same volume-times-100 rule as the dose converter.
Whether to split doses at all is a clinical decision. This tool does not recommend it; it only does the arithmetic for numbers you enter. If you are managing tolerability, our guide on tracking GLP-1 side effects may help you and your prescriber spot patterns.
Frequently asked questions
How is the per-injection dose calculated?
Per-injection dose equals your total weekly dose divided by the number of injections per week. Splitting 1.0 mg across two injections gives 0.5 mg each.
Does splitting a dose change the total amount of medication?
No. The weekly total is the same; you are just dividing it into smaller, more frequent injections. This tool does not advise you to split anything, it only shows the maths for numbers you enter.
Should I split my doses?
That is a decision for you and your prescriber. Some people discuss more frequent, smaller injections for tolerability, but only your clinician can advise whether that is appropriate for you.
